ADMISSION NOTICE FOR MD/MS COURSES-2011 

FOR ADMISSION TO 3 YEARS MD/MS COURSE - 2011

1. SUBJECTS : The subject and category wise distribution of seats is as per Annexure I. The details are also available on BHU website (ww.bhu.ac.in) & IMS website (www.imsbhu.nic.in).

2. ELIGIBILITY :
I) The candidate must have passed MBBS or equivalent degree/recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI).
II) The candidate must complete one year Compulsory Rotating Internship on or before 30th April 2011.
III) Candidates who have done MD/MS course are NOT ELIGIBLE for admission.
IV) Foreign medical degree holder should attach attested copy of MBBS equivalence certificate from MCI.

3. AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATION FORMS :
i) It can be down loaded from BHU Website (www.bhu.ac.in) & IMS website (www.imsbhu.nic.in).
ii) It can also be obtained from the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi on submission of a DD (MICR only) of Rs 100/- in favour of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, payable at Varanasi along with self addressed unstamped envelop (24 X 30cm) by Post till 31st December 2009 and in person till 24th January 2011.

4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS :

i) Candidate must fill all the four pages of the application form in his/her own handwriting and all the entries in the form should be filled by the same writing material.

ii) The completed application form in all respects including photographs & attested thumb impression should reach the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi – 221005 on or before 31st January 2011 (5.00 PM). The envelope containing the application should be superscribed "APPLICATION FOR MD/MS COURSE - 2011”. Advance photocopy, Fax or E-Mail copies of the application will not be accepted.

iii) Duly completed application must be accompanied with a DD drawn on a nationalized bank and payable at Varanasi in favour of DIRECTOR, IMS, BHU of Rs 1,000 (Rupees One thousand) for institutional candidates; Rs 1,000 (Rupees One thousand) along with an attested copy of the caste certificate for Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) Candidate and Rs. 1600 (One Thousand Six Hundred only) for other categories. Only MICR drafts are accepted. 

iv) Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained on any ground including the postal delay.

v) All passport size photographs must be identical, snapped with front profile, showing full head, face, shoulder and with both ears and taken without wearing any Cap/Hat/Sunglasses. Polaroid photos are not accepted. Photograph must be taken on or after 7th July 2010 with a placard indicating the date and name of the candidate. The photograph in A on Page 1 should be attested by a Gazetted officer / Head of Institution last attended and photographs in B and C are to be self attested. Signature of the attesting officer / candidate should begin on application form and then extend over the photograph. The thumb impression on page 4 of the application also to be attested by a Gazetted Officer / Head of Institution last attended.

vi) Candidates who are in service (Government/Semi Government/Statutory body) must apply through proper channel with endorsement certificate of the employer provided in the application form.

vii) Provisional admit card shall be sent by the Registered post to the candidates. If an eligible candidate does not receive the admit card, he/she may contact the Office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, B.H.U., Varanasi on Saturday, 26th March 2011 between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM along with 2 copies of attested passport size photographs identical to those pasted in Original application form. No duplicate admit card will be issued on the day of examination i.e., 27th March, 2011.

About Banaras Hindu University
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), is a Central university, located in Varanasi, India, which is also the largest residential university in Asia, with over 12,000 students living on its campus. BHU was founded in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya and under the Parliamentary legislation, 'B.H.U. Act 1915'.
The Banaras Hindu University Library system was established from a collection donated by Prof. P.K. Telang in the memory of his father Justice Kashinath Trimbak Telang in 1917. The collection was housed in the Telang Hall of the Central Hindu College, Kamachha. In 1921 the library was moved to the Central Hall of the Arts College (now Faculty of Arts) and then in 1941 to its present building. The library was established with the donation from Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda, on the pattern of the library British Museum in London on the suggestion of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the founder of university. It is also a designated 'Manuscript Conservation Centre' (MCC) under the National Mission for Manuscripts established in 2003.
