Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)

Eligibility:
GATE qualified 1st Class Engineering/Technology graduates in any branch. GATE Qualifiers get Teaching Assistantship @ Rs.8OO0/- per month and contingency expenditure as per rules. Admission is based on Group Discussion and Personal interview with appropriate weight age to GATE percentile. Final year Engineering/technology candidates can also apply, provided they secure the qualifying degree with First class before June 17, 2011 only short listed candidates will be called for GD and Pl at NITIE, Mumbai.
SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt, of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005-SCD-I dated 21.6.2007 & No, 19G12/36/05 – education dated 27.6.2G07 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned there in Reservation for OBC candidates belonging non- creamy layer is as per the government regulations.
Selection of Industry Sponsored candidates with First Class Degree in Engineering /Technology (with a minimum of 2 years industry experience) is through Personal Interview only. GATE score is not required for Sponsored candidates. No teaching assistantship is granted to ISP candidates.

Issue of Brochure and Online Application begins: 21st February, 2011 onwards

Last date for receipt of completed application: 5Th April, 2011

About NITIE
National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) was established by the Government of India in the year 1963 with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the International Labour Organization (ILO) to create skilled professionals to improve industrial efficiency, productivity and management of resources. Steve Dembicki, who was a Chief advisor at ILO, and Dr. Vikram Sarabhai were instrumental in founding the institute. Its first on-site Director was Vinayak S. Vernekar who had previously worked at TISCO in Jamshedpur. Fully funded by the Government of India and registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. NITIE, an autonomous body, is governed by a Board of Governors comprising eminent personalities from the government, industry and academia. Since its inception, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) has been providing solutions to the complex problems of industry and business.
