Delhi University Common Aptitude Test for English

The entrance examination of Delhi University for the subject of English is conducted every year. This examination is conducted for the admission in 17 collages, which comes under the Delhi University. Around 47 collages are there under the control of Delhi University, out of which in 17 colleges admission for English subject is carried out by conducting CATE examination.  Around 10,000+ students apply for this English test examination every year. This examination is usually conducted in the month of the June and in the last week of June all the merit and cut off lists are announced. The syllabus of the examination is designed in such a way that, students are tested and their knowledge and skills in English literature are evaluated. Around 450 seats are available, which are filled by this entrance examination.

Eligibility Criteria for the Examination:
For the eligibility in this examination student must have to pass 12th examination under 10+2 education scheme with minimum of 60% marks in the English subject from any recognized state board in India. Students also need to get 60% marks in other subjects. Candidates who give the 12th examination and are waiting for their final results can also apply for the entrance test examination. 

Exam Pattern:
Entrance examination has two papers. Paper one have the objective type of questions, the questions have multiple choice answer option. Students who pass the paper one successfully are eligible for the 2nd paper. No negative marks will be given in the papers. Paper two is having the subjective type of questions where brief answers are expected. Student who pass successfully in the written examinations, get the admission to the course depending upon its individual performance.
