Ambedkar University or Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University is a central university situated at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The university was named after one great personality and architect of Indian Constitution Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. It is one of the youngest universities in India being formed recently. The university has 5 schools affiliated to it, Viz. School for Information Science & Technology, School for Bio-Sciences & Bio-technology, School for Ambedkar Studies, School for physical sciences and School for Legal Studies. Admission Procedure:

• Candidate must be a graduate from any recognized university in India with at least 55% marks
• Students living in the state of Delhi are eligible to receive certain relaxation in mark

No student can get the admission to this course directly. To get the admission under MA, one has to undergo entrance exam which is then followed by group discussion and personal interview. Application form for entrance exam is available at university's office else one can also download it from internet. The form will be available in few selected branches of Canara bank and by paying DD of specific amount it can be purchased. Ambedkar University was formed in the year of 2007 under the Delhi legislation act. University was formed by the central government of India. AUD has two campuses, one is located at Dwarka and other one is at Kashmere. University also has many study centers at the Delhi and in other cities which are nearby to Delhi. University provides quality education to the students as well as provides very good facilities like integrated library, gymkhana etc. University also has hostel for the students.

Delhi University offers BA (Bachelor of Arts) programme under full time education mode. This is bachelor level course. Duration of the programme is three years. Detail information about BA programme is given below.

Eligibility Criteria for BA:

To get the admission in the BA course, students must have to pass the higher secondary or 12th examination under the 10+2 education scheme from any recognized University or State Board in India. For the eligibility candidate must have to get 50% marks in the 12th examination. There are some seats reserved for the candidates who are belonging from Delhi territory and from CBSC or ICSE boards. Relaxation in minimum marks is provided for the students who are from reserved category.

Admission Procedure:

Admission procedure for the BA is carried out as per the reference of 12th examination. By obtaining that marks, merit list will be formed and high scorer candidate will get the admission first and subsequently other candidates will be admitted. Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vishwavidyalaya or in short AUD was established by a special act of Delhi Legislature in 2008 by Government of NCT of Delhi. The university began its functioning in same year. Being a uniform and non affiliating university, its main focus is on post-graduate and under-graduate studies and in making research in social sciences and humanities. It is funded completely by Government of NCT Delhi.

Presently, Ambedkar University has two campuses in Delhi, out of which one is situated at Kashmere gate and other one is in Integrated Institute of Technology, Dwarka. You can reach the latter using blue line of metro railway and former by yellow and the red line of metro. The university has planning to develop a new campus which is located in Dheerpur in North Delhi. The new campus will occupy area of 110 acres. The planning is being made that out of 110 acres, 60 acres will contain a bio diversity park which will be themed on conservation of wetlands.

Formerly the university was located in Kashmere campus and used to be operated from there, but after some time the university was shifted to Dwarka campus and now is being operated from there. In future, when the new campus will be completed, the main center of university will be shifted to the new campus. The campus which is being built at Dheerpur is planned such that it will be energy efficient, disabled friendly and ecologically efficient. The new campus will include academic recreational, social facilities as well as residential facilities for all the students as well as teachers.
