Himalayan Institute Hospital and Trust University (HIHT) was established in the year 1994 by yogi and philanthropist Dr Swami Rama. It is being recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and is located in lush green area of Dehradhun. The HIHT University was established in 1994 by H.H. Swami Rama. The HIHT in HIHT University stands for Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust. The HIHT University specializes in Medicine and has been established under the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust. The HIHT University is located at Dehradun in the state of Uttrakhand. At the HIHT University, students are not only trained to be professionals in their respective fields but also to be good human beings, human beings with ethical values and morals. There are three major departments in the University, viz., Clinical, Para Clinical and Pre Clinical.
