Eligibility Conditions and Admission Criteria:-

Pass in 12th Class of 10+2 pattern of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. Candidate must additionally have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective)

The University Library, re-christened as University Information Resource Centre (UIRC), was established at its Kashmere Gate Campus in September 1999 with the prime responsibility to supplement the educational and knowledge needs of the students, researchers and its faculty members.  UIRC has been consistently building up itself from strength to strength to fulfill its objectives by incorporating the latest technology and talent in providing most cost-effective and time-efficient information services to its members.  The services offered by UIRC are fully computerized. The resource centre also has Xerox facilities and document delivery services.  The centre at present serves about 3,000 members.  It is fully airconditioned with a plan of doubling its reading room capacity in the near future.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is a unitary, affiliating and teaching university which appeared by the efforts of the government of Delhi under the provision of University Act 1988. It got approval from UGC in the year 1999. NAAC has accredited IP University with ‘A’ Grade in the year 2007. University also achieved certification by ISO 9001 2000.

In just 12 years of its existence, university made its presence felt all over the world by providing the best possible education and research facility to its students. Currently university is running more than 60 courses and more than 86 colleges and institutes are under IP University. University is providing professional education to more than 40000 students in various fields with an annual intake of more than 12000. IP University also providing placements assistance in best of the companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro,  Pepsi, nestle, HDFC, ICICI, IDBI, Mahendra British Telecom, Ranbaxy, L.G, Reliance, and many more.

Currently university is functioning from Kashmare Gate New Delhi having a campus of 16 acres. However, university has taken under possession 60 acres of land near Dwarka, New Delhi. In the new campus, the management is planning to set up State of Art campus with Ultra modern facilities. It is also decided to build another campus in East Delhi and the land of about 19 acres has already been taken opposite of Surajmal Vihar.

Under the university, thousands of students are enroll under various UG and PG courses. Indraprastha University has great strength of professionally qualified teachers. It has about 149 faculty members and about 500 supporting staff.  

The university gets support and guidance from some Statuary Bodies such as the Board of Management, the court, the Board of Affiliation, the finance committee, the planning board and the academic council. Member of these statutory bodies are scholars from varied fields and disciplines.
