Heramba Chandra College Admission Procedure for Online Admission
Important Admission Dates, 2011:
Submission of Online Forms: From 7 June, 2011 [2 PM] to 13 June, 2011 [8 PM].
Application Money Submission to Indian Overseas Bank: From 8 June, 2011 to 14 June, 2011 (during banking hours [9.30 AM to 2.30 PM on weekdays]. No submission will be accepted on Saturdays and Sundays)
Date of Publication of FIRST Merit List (s): by 25 June by 4PM.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE (Please read carefully):
- Applications are to be made ONLINE at www.herambachandraadmissions.com
- Candidates applying for One Subject may also apply separately for Other Subjects with separate Bank Challan of Rs. 70/-. For example, a candidate applying for B.Com.Honours in 'Accounting & Finance' may also apply for B.Com. Honours in 'Marketing'.
The same option is available for B.A. / B.Sc.(Honours) subjects also.
- After completion of data entry online, the candidate shall have to take a print out of it, which in case of any dispute regarding data entry shall be considered to be the basis.
- After completion of step (1) candidate shall have to take a print out of the bank challan, which shall be there in triplicate, of which one is to be retained by the candidate while depositing the application fee of Rs 70 at designated branches of Indian Overseas Bank given below.

Kolkata - 700 005. - FIRST MERIT LISTs shall be published by JUNE 25, 2011 by 4 pm along with the MASTER LISTS of all eligible applicants. Merit Lists shall be displayed on line as well as the hard copy on the college notice board, but Master Lists shall be published online only.
- While publishing the First Merit lists, dates of admission and dates of deposition of fees at GOLPARK Branch of Indian Overseas Bank shall be announced. Listed and interested candidates have to take out a print out of enrolment form, ON BOND PAPER, which they have to bring to the college on the dates (s) of admission along with Copies and Originals of Class X, Class XII admit cards, Certificates, Mark sheets, Caste Certificates (if required), Physically Challenged Certificates (if required), Sports and Games Certificates (if required), two copies of Passport size colour Photographs and five copies of Stamp size colour Photographs.
- As per the stipulation by the University of Calcutta, candidates from states other than West Bengal must authenticate their mark-sheet before admission.
- At the time of publishing first merit lists, date of publication of second merit lists, if required, shall be announced. At the time of Publication of Second merit lists, date of publication of third merit lists, if required, shall be announced. And so on.
- While publishing the successive Merit lists, dates of admission and dates of deposition of fees at Golpark Branch of Indian Overseas Bank shall be announced. Listed and interested candidates have to take out a print out of enrolment form, on BOND PAPER, which they have to bring to the college on the dates (s) of admission along with Copies and Originals of Class X, Class XII admit cards, Certificates, Mark sheets, Caste Certificates (if required), Physically Challenged Certificates (if required), Sports and Games Certificates (if required), two copies of Passport size colour Photographs five copies of Stamp size colour Photographs.
- No student shall be considered for admission if he or she fails to take admission or to deposit fees within the date (s) mentioned in the merit lists (s) on which his or her name has appeared. All applicants are advised to follow admission schedule strictly.
- A Student admitted to a Course/ Subject may convert to another Course/Subject when his or her name turns up on the list for the latter Course/subject, by paying the difference fees, if any. But he or she has to take admission on the dates mentioned on the list (s).
- All admissions are Provisional and shall be finalised only after proper verification of documents and fulfillment of the norms of University of Calcutta
- If there remain vacant seats after admitting all applicants in any Honours subject (s), fresh application will be invited online, and same procedure as mentioned above shall be followed.
- Any wrong statement will cause forfeiture of right of getting admission.
- In all matters the decision of the Admission Committee of the college will be binding and final.
- ADMISSION SHALL BE MADE STRICTLY ON BASIS OF MERIT AND FROM AMONG THE PUBLISHED LISTS. ANY SOLICITATION IN ANY FORM IS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY AND DETRIMENTAL TO THE INTEREST OF THE STUDENT (S).
- Heramba Chandra College, popularly known as South City (Day), is a unit of the Brahmo Samaj Education Society.
- The College is marching ahead with brilliant performances of its students in academics as well as in the sports arena. South City Group of Colleges was founded by Sadharan Brahmo Samaj. Heramba Chandra College is perhaps the largest component of this Group.
- The College, Conspicuous by the high level of Commerce Education, also offers Honours Courses in Bengali, Economics, Education, English and Geography, in addition to Political Science and History.
