Eligibility for the Admission:

To get the admission in the B. Sc. programme, candidate must have to pass the 12th examination in the science faculty from State board of Kolkata or any other recognized state board in India. For the admission students are required to secure at least 40% marks in the 12th examination. The relaxation in the minimum marks is provided for the students from reserved category.  

Admission Procedure:

Application forms for the admission are available at the admission office of the University and also available on the website of the University. Candidate can download the form from there and after filling up all the details can send it to the University.

Selection Procedure:

The admissions for B. Sc. are carried out by obtaining the 12th examination marks. By considering 12th marks and available seats, merit list is formed. After the forming the merit list high scorer candidate gets the first admission and after that other candidate can get the admission as per the merit list.

This university carries out an entrance examination for the MA course. For the eligibility in the examination candidates need to pass the Bachelor’s degree with minimum marks criteria.

Admission Procedure:

The candidates who pass this entrance examination are eligible for the next step of the admission i.e. Personal Interview. Eligibility for the M. Sc. Admission:

For getting the admission in the M. Sc. programme candidates must have to complete B.Sc. or graduation in any concern faculty from the Kolkata University or any other recognized University in India. Candidates must be of Indian domicile for the admission. The candidates who are from outside of India, have to submit valid documents for the admission.

Admission Procedure:

For the admission in the M.Sc, interested candidates are required to undergo through the entrance examination of the University. This entrance examination is carried out on the national level. This College was established with idea of spreading the English Language education amongst Hindu population. In 1817, Hindu College was recognized with some numbers of students. The classes were taken in the rented house next to 304-chitpore road. After that when administration became reliant on the government for the financing, college was altered to the Presidency College. The College was unlocked to people from every casts and religions. At present, the college is located at the College Street in Kolkata having 14.5 acres area. This college came under Government's straight control in the year 1855. The college provides both Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate courses. The college is having NAAC A+ accredited institute and is amongst the best-known Science colleges of Kolkata. 

The College is having excellent infrastructure. It has mainly four main buildings recognized as Derozio Building, Main building, laboratory block, and Netaji Subhas Building. The college has Canteen, central library, Gymnasium, cricket and Football ground & a lot of other facilities. 

The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate degrees associated with the Kolkata University.
