Vellore Institute MBA Admission Process / Criteria Form Eligibility
Vellore Institute of Technology is known as VIT University nowadays and is a co-educational university situated at Vellore, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1984, by G. Vishwanathan who works now as chancellor of the university. It is a self-financing institution. It was formerly known as Vellore Engineering collage. It offers many different degree courses. It offers total 15 undergraduate and 31 postgraduate courses.
VIT admits students based on CAT score or based on other equivalent examinations score like XAT or MAT for their MBA course. There is one another criterion for admission that candidates must have a full time degree with or above 60% marks throughout his academic career and that too from any recognized institute. Candidates having some work experience are preferred in admission process. Those who pass these rounds have to undergo various other rounds like group discussions and interviews.
To apply for admission at VIT, one has to fill its form along with the CAT/MAT/XAT score and form should be submitted to Admission officer, VIT University. Application can be obtained by sending a DD (Demand Draft) of Rs.900/- drawn in favour of “VIT University” which is payable to Admission officer at University campus, Vellore form along with request letter or it can also be submitted at VIT administrative office, Chennai. Any of the IIMs plays no role in selection process or in main program.
In or around the month of January of every year, application forms are issued and approximately two and half months are given for submission of forms. After last date of submission, candidates are selected based on their skills as described above and within next 15 days group discussions and interviews takes place. Dates for all processes are declared prior to application dates. In the mid-June actual lectures start.
Many people prefer VIT over other institutes as they provide higher education standards compares to other ones.
