Annamalai University was established in the year 1928 and is located Annamalainagar in Cuddalore district of TamliNadu. Over the last 75 years this institute has opened 48 Department in all 9 facilities and is one of the few institutes which have the entire department in same campus.

It offers various regular courses weather it is a management course or the science course or the arts it offers wide range of course. Other than correspondence and diploma courses this university do offers distance learning. It offers 380 courses.

The Directorate of distance learning which is offered by this university helps those students who cannot attend the lecture in the campus on a regular basis. The DDE is well equipped with computer and other infracsture with study centers and other computer centers. The DDE has also introduced with Dual degree system which can help the candidate to enable to acquire 2 degrees in 4 years having focus on Information Technology Education. The DDE is also offering courses such as Fashion Design, Textile Design, Interior Design and Hotel Management and many other professional courses.

Admission process:

Candidate can get the application form the directorate from any study centers by just paying Rs 250/-. The application form will not be transferable and should be in the prescribed form of academic year. Candidates who have passed under the qualifying pattern of 11+2+2 or 11+1+3. But candidate who have passed with the qualification examination under 10+2+2 pattern from any university will not be considered.

Applicants who have the degree of universities which is not recognized by the UGC will not be eligible for the admission.
