Annamalai University Courses AdmissionThe noble hearted person late honorable Dr. Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettair of Chettinad founded Annamalai University. He started many colleges and later started the university in the year 1929. Since the beginning, it has tried to understand the aims of the noble founder. After him, from 1948 to 1948 his famous son Padma Bhusan Dr. Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettair of Chettinad was the prime chancellor. Present chancellor is Dr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy who is supporter of sports and eminent son of Dr. Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettair.
In the last decade, the university has grown enormously and cemented his position as a unitary and residential university with over 3240 members on its teaching staff with forty-nine departments of learning. University campus includes colleges, playgrounds, hostels, and cafeteria that establishes in an area of thousand acres. University is located in AnnamalaiNagar in cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu state.
The university offers various courses in several fields for higher education that includes Science, Art, Engineering and Technology, Indian language, fine Arts, Medicine, Agriculture, Dentistry, Education and many more. University is also planning to launch some of the latest subjects for higher education that are already in the courses offered by other University. In the coming one to two years, we can expect major amendments in the courses of the university. University is continuously planning the expansion of university in both academic and infrastructure.
Annamalai University has a world class Central Library and Laboratories offers outstanding facility to students who want to do some research work on specialized subjects, or for Ph.D or post Doctoral work. Various Faculties funded by several agencies including the State and Central Governments have undertaken several Research Projects.
University also offers distance-learning courses for students who are not comfortable in attending regular classes and provides more than 380 courses under distance learning.
