University of Burdwan (BU) Admission In the year 1989, University of Burdwan was established to furnish the need for improving the standard of the teachers as well as to inject vitality in higher education system. Among the various renowned universities in West Bengal, university of Burdwan holds a very strong place. NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) given the university ‘A’ grade for the contribution they made in spreading the education and improving the class of faculty as well as students. Currently under the control of this university, there are more than thirty UG colleges, which spread higher education among five districts. The focus of the university is to generate feeling among the newly appointed teachers to understand the importance of education and building connection between education, economic and social environment for the betterment of the nation.
University of Burdwan is comprises of five major faculties namely Arts, Law, Commerce, Engineering and Science. Under those major faculties, there are several other departments. University offers various UG, PG, M.Phil, Doctorate and Post Doctorate programs on variety of subjects. Moreover, it also offers Advanced Diploma, Diploma and Certificate courses. For admission in UG or PG program students must keep a close eye on the admission announcement, which generally comes out after higher secondary and graduation results, respectively.
It is mandatory that aspirants must have scored at least 55% in the PG level. Before admission in research programs, aspirants have to sit on entrance exams followed by an interview.
