Calicut University Admission
In the year 1968, Calicut University appeared in Kerala with a motive to develop human resource in the northern district of Kerala. It was just the second university at that time in the state. Administration of the university wants to extend the reach of further education by enriching research in all fields of development with major focus on technology and art and culture of the state.
Calicut University is located at Malappuram district 24 km south away from Calicut city and it is the main center for academic studies. In the campus office of vice Chancellor, Examination room, administration office of University, Academic Staff College, School of Distance Education, well-equipped library, hi-tech computer lab, Educational Multimedia Research Center, Support and service departments for students and 21 post graduate departments of teaching and research.
Calicut University offers course in the discipline of Botany, Biotechnology, Commerce and Management, Arabic, Chemistry, History, English, Mass Communication and Journalism, Library and Information Science, Life Science, Physics, Psychology, Sanskrit, Zoology, Statistics and many more.
From the academic year Calicut University has introduce M.Phil and Ph.D programme for the students who are interested to do such degrees. To match up the increase demand university has launched latest courses in computer and application, health sciences, social work and printing technology. Management is very keen to change the whole pattern of teaching in the campus. Very soon, they are going to adopt latest teaching techniques. The institute also offers B.tech Courses in all stream of engineering.
Currently more than 304 colleges are under the affiliation of the university. Out of which 83 are located in Kozhikode, 82 in Malappuram, 72 in Thrissur, 50 in Palakkad and 10 in Wayanad. About 182 colleges are under private educational organizations and the state government runs rests of them. Calicut University is very committed towards its students to provide the best possible infrastructure and study material.
