Jadavpur University Admission

Jadavpur University is located in Kolkata, West Bengal. It is one of the prestigious universities of the nation. It offers eminent educational and research training to the students. Jadavpur University has two campuses – one at Jadavpur and the other one at Salt Lake. Jadavpur University is closely related to the leading learning research institutes like Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute and Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has accredited this university. Jadavpur University comes in the top five university of the country, which has “Potential for Excellence”. Jadavpur University has also received the status of “Five Star University” by the National Assessment and Accrediation Council of the country.

Main campus of Jadavpur has most of the departments includes Engineering, Science and Arts. Five engineering departments are operated from the salt lake campus. The main ground at Salt Lake is often given to Bengal cricket Association for inter and state level cricket matches. Very soon, a new campus is expected which will provide the added space for laboratories for the departments of Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical and Computer Engineering. Recently, the government of Bengal is trying to upgrade to Central University.

University is offering industrial training to the students to enhance their soft skills and practical knowledge. Training and placement officer is assisting the students in placements and guidance to the students. Numerous companies visit Jadavpur University every year and provide job to the students of the university. In the academic year, 2010-11 80 percent students were placed and some companies are still to visit.
