Madurai Kamaraj University Admission

In the year, 1966 Madurai Kamaraj University came into existence. Today the university has 18 schools and 73 Departments. University has also offers distance education programs that has about 1.30-lakh candidate. Under this university 109 college, nine autonomous and seven evening college are affiliated. Earlier the university known as Madurai University that named after the famous historical place Madurai. Dr. Zakir Hussain laid the foundation stone of the university who was the president of the country at that time.

University is located on Theni road 13 km away from the center of the city. Since the foundation, the campus has developed into a stunning university township. University locates in an area of 750 acres. In the year 1978, name of the university changed from Madurai University to Madurai Kamraj University to honor one of the most famous sons of the country. The name of the University signifies the delight in the hoary tradition of the Tamils and the current concern to live up to their ethics.

The aphorism of the university is “To seek truth is knowledge” which is being taken from Tirukkural. Madurai Kamraj University is very renowned University of all our India especially in south. Every year thousands of students take admission on the regular courses the university offers. This university is a boon for those students who cannot take regular classes due to some of their personal constraints but want to study further or do some degree courses they have an option to take admission on distance education courses and enrich their career.
