Punjab Technical University Admission

On 16 January 1997 Punjab Technical University (PTU) appeared by an act of State Legislature. PTU is proving good education in the field of management, engineering and Pharmaceutical. It is offering UG and PG programme. The university is in the direction for setting up centers of excellence and the university is emerging in Technologies for supporting training and research and Development in these areas. At this time, university is concentrating in offering skill oriented and job oriented courses to the masses. Keeping the motto in the mind university is coming up with variety of latest educational programmes for the students. University offers regular as well as distance education programmes. Under its administration, 288 colleges are offering Engineering courses, diploma or degree in management, Hotel management degree, pharmacy, Catering Technology and IT disciplines and more than 1005 centers for distance learning.

PTU has taken many steps to meet up the latest trends in technical education and provide opportunity to both students and faculty members to interact with the leader in technology of the country, which includes e-Governance. Everyone believes that the quality of education highly depends on the quality of teachers and research inputs. To provide opportunity and improve the qualification of faculty members PTU has introduce various research activities and also started M.Tech courses which is now mandatory for every faculty to quality. University has also started job placements by help their students in getting their career started.

PTU is running a great distance-learning program in the country. Distance education is proving to be an effective way of spreading education and technology to the people. Today, PTU has more than 300 distance learning center in the region of Punjab and across the nation. The first level of Distance education is over now PTU is looking to move ahead by modernizing teaching methods and improving the quality of teaching and research.
