How To Apply:
Admission Procedure
The candidate may seek admission either directly to the University or through any one of the approved Study Centres. The list of Approved Study Centres is placed in this website.

If the candidates enroll directly with the University, the Course Materials shall be directly sent to them and they have to attend the Contact Classes at Karaikudi.

If candidates enroll through Study Centres, the Course Materials shall be sent through the Study Centres and they have to attend the Contact Classes arranged by the Study Centres at their places.

The following documents are to be enclosed along with the filled-in application:
·          The original entry qualification of HSC/ Diploma Certificate or Degree or Provisional Certificate and a copy attested by the Gazetted Officer. (Original Certificates will be returned immediately after verification)
·          Student Index Card with stamp size photo and signature affixed.
·          Demand Draft for the prescribed total fees drawn in favour of the Director, DDE, Alagappa University, payable on any bank at Karaikudi.
·          No Transfer Certificate is required for admission to any of the Courses

About Alagappa University
Alagappa University is located on about 420 acres (1.7 km2) in the business town of Karaikudi in Sivaganga District in Tamil Nadu, India. Karaikudi is 400 km south of Madras on the Madras - Rameswaram line and is accessible from Tiruchirappalli and Madurai in about 2 hours by road and rail. This seat of higher education has emerged from the galaxy of institutions founded by R.M. Alagappa Chettiar. Alagappa University was brought into existence by a special Act of the state government in May 1985 with the objective of fostering research, development and dissemination of knowledge in various branches of learning. Alagappa University is recognized by the UGC, Government of India. Alagappa University, hitherto of unitary type, was converted into an affiliating type by the Tamil Nadu Universities Act, 2002, with a view to widen the horizon of its academic activities by bringing into its jurisdiction the Arts and Science colleges in the Districts of Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga.
