Madhya Pradesh Bhoj Open University

In the year 1991, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University (MPBOU) appeared by an Act of State Assembly. The university was named after the well-known King Bhoj who was a great supporter of learning. University focus is to distribute impeccable knowledge and quality education to multiple groups of learners irrespective of their gender, status, employment, age and region. MPBOU is the foremost university in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which provides quality higher education via Open and distance learning system and it is easily accessible to the aspirants who wants to complete their higher education.  The prime objective of MPBOU is to expand higher education to untouched regions where there is no other institute or colleges for higher education in the surrounding area of 30 km. University also provide special privileges to those students who come from rural or tribal areas and those suffering from physical disabilities.      

On an average every year, nearly 1.5 lakh students enroll themselves in various disciplines offered by the university and it is the second largest university of the nation.

Majorly, Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University gives stress on to provide higher education and training using different form of educational inputs such as text books, practical classes, Audio/Video programmes, contact teaching, using satellite communication, lessons in print, etc. Now, university has developed various systems which are enough capable of providing higher education and training in remote, undeveloped tribal or rural areas. The ultimate aim of the university is to offer proper training and higher education to students, professionals and seekers of education.
