Admission

Admission Procedure - B.Sc. Economics

You are advised to carefully read all instructions as given below:

It is mandatory to appear for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) for admission to SSE.
For details about SET, kindly visit www.set-test.org
The applicant will receive a prospectus from Symbiosis International University.
The applicant is required to fill up an on-line application form at the website of SSE – www.sse.ac.in – and pay Rs. 1000/-to become eligible for admission to SSE.
The payment of Rs.1000/- can be made by any one of the two options-
Demand Draft – (Kindly mention your name and the SET ID number on the back of the Demand Draft)
Credit Card or Net Banking.
The payment can be made in favour of ‘Director, Symbiosis School of Economics’ payable at Pune.

Selection is done on the basis:

SET score
Based on the SET score, the institute will conduct a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) for the short listed students. The short-listed candidates will get a call for the Personal Interview and Group Discussion
The candidates can give their preference location for GD/PI process at either of the three centres, (provided there are a minimum of 20 candidates)

Eligibility
XII pass from any branch with minimum 50% marks for the general category and 45% for students of SC and ST category.
Qualifying the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) and group discussion and personal interview of the School.
The following are the reservation rules that shall be followed while admitting Indian students

Scheduled Caste : 15%
Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
Differently Abled : 3%
Kashmiri Migrants: 2 over and above the programme intake.
Admissions of all International Students including foreign nationals, PIO & NRI are done through The International Office of Symbiosis International. Kindly refer to www.scie.ac.in

Policy of admission against vacant seats under reserved category
In case some seats remain vacant due to the non availability of suitable candidates in the category of reservations then the information about the vacant seats will be reported to Symbiosis International University. With the permission of the Vice Chancellor the seats will be converted to the general category seats and shortlisted students will be offered these seats.

About Symbiosis
Symbiosis International University (S.I.U) is a private co-educational, multi-institutional university located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It has been given official recognition by the UGC and the AICTE. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has conferred an 'A' grade to the University. SIU is part of the Symbiosis Society which is its managing body.
The Society was established in 1971 by Padmashree Dr S.B. Mujumdar. It was given autonomous status in 2002 by the Ministry of Human Resources Development and since then has opened many more institutes affiliated to it.
