Central University of Himachal Pradesh
The central University of Himachal Pradesh is recognized under the Central Universities Act 2009 with No. 25 of 2009 from Indian Parliament. Consequently, the planning commission in the 11th Plan offered for establishment of the 16 novel Central Universities. Headquarters of this University is situated in Dharamshala in district Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. The University is having two campuses at Dharamshala and Dehra, both in Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh.
Dhauladhar Campus is situated in Dharamshala. The nearby airport is in Gaggal, just 20-Minutes away from the Dharamshala. The nearest Railway Station is in Pathankot that takes around 2 hours by road. Beas Campus is situated in Dehra. The nearby airport is Gaggal that is at one hour's drive. The nearest main railway station is the Pathankot that takes 3 hours through road. Dehra may also be attained through Chandigarh that takes around four hours through road.
The University is currently making its Vision document for consultation with well-known educationists that may be finalized in first meeting of Academic Council as well as Executive Council of University.
