Lady Shri Ram College Delhi
Lady Shri Ram College is a well known college for education of liberal arts in Delhi. With the aimed to provide quality higher education to women Lady Shri Ram College was established by late Shri Ram in 1956. Back then it was located in Central Delhi at Daryaganj in a small school building. It used impart lessons in three distinct courses, had a support staff of four, a faculty off nine teachers and had two hundred forty three students. Lady Shri Ram College is affiliated to the University of Delhi and has constantly been amongst the top five colleges ranked by India today. Now a day’s Lady Shri Ram College has its own campus in South Delhi located at Lajpat Nagar. Lady Shri Ram College now has sixteen courses on its list, a faculty of over one hundred fifty support staff and administrative staff and caters to over two thousand students on its fifteen acre campus. The college has a huge collection of books, magazines and audio video cassettes in its fully computerized library. The college also has a number of sports training facilities like a gymnasium, table tennis, chess, volleyball, shooting, basketball, lawn tennis, etc. The college also has a student’s cafeteria where students can unwind. The campus also boasts of a placement cell, a counseling cell and campus houses meant to meet the residence requirements of roughly three hundred students. Lady Shri Ram College provides university degree courses, diploma courses and certificate courses. Certificate courses are short term courses in the fields of communication skills, women and politics and arts appreciation. Spanish, Russian and French language courses are also offered. Notable alumni from Lady Shri Ram College includes renowned film actress ArchanaPuran Singh, Gauri Khan Wife of renowned superstar Shahrukh Khan, SaakshiTanwar and NainaLalKidwai, CEO HSBC India.
