Admission to the course of MBBS is governed by Gujarat Professional Medical Educational Colleges or Institutions (Regulation of Admission & Fixation of Fees) Act 2007(Act No.3 of 2008) as notified in the official Gazette) 

Admissions under NRI category shall be restricted to 15% of total annual intake as laid down by the section 6 of the above Act with Rules for admission in pursuance of powers conferred in the above Act

Hostel

Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls are available. Hostel accommodation will be offered to students depending upon the availability. The hostel fees  is as follows:   

1) Rs. 15000/- per annum (Rs. 3000/- hostel rent + Rs.

12000/- hostel maintenance) and 

2) Rs. 5000/- Refundable security deposit 

How To Apply

  

1) Students shall download the application form from our websites:  http://smimersuratmunicipal.gov.in and www.suratmunicipal.gov.in and send the application form duly filled, to the address mentioned below, along with the application and processing fee of Rs. 2000/-+ 8000/- = 10,000/- (Rs. Ten thousand only) by cash/DD. In case of demand draft it shall be in favour of “Commissioner, Surat Municipal Corporation” payable at Surat on or before 27.06.2011.  Incomplete application form will not be accepted. 

2) In case of Non Resident Indian Students (passed qualifying examination outside India)) all certificates must be duly attested and stamped by the Indian Embassy of the concerned country 

3) The applicant shall have to produce the original certificates before Admission Committee at the time of admission for verification. If during scrutiny or any time there after any discrepancy or tampering of facts is noticed, the admission is liable to be cancelled. The candidate shall be expelled and legal action shall  be initiated against him. In such cases, the fees paid will not be refunded.

SMIMER was established in the year 2000 with an annual intake of 100 students, after obtaining permission from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi vide its letter NO. U 12012/34/99-Me(P). This institute was shifted to its modern building at Umarwada in the year 2001. SMIMER campus has been developed in the total area of 25 acres situated in the vicinity of Surat railway station, in a phase-wise manner as per the guidelines and regulations prescribed by the Medical Council of India. Presently this institute has all the infrastructural facilities including buildings, equipments & instruments, staff and material required for patients to cater to the health needs of both indoor and outdoor patients and to provide educational facilities to an annual intake of 150 students.
