The University of Delhi is one of the oldest universities in India, being established in 1922. The university now offers all the courses at graduate and post graduate level. The university was ranked 371 among all the universities in world by THES - QS world universities ranking in 2010. The university currently has two campuses in Delhi, one in south Delhi and another in North Delhi.
The department of computer science was established in Delhi University in the year of 1981 with one goal to provide quality education in computer science field. As now technology is growing rapidly and almost everywhere computer is being used, hence it is very necessary to educate students about this sector so they can fulfill the ever-growing need of in IT field.
Admission procedure
Application form for M.Sc. Computer Science can be downloaded from the site http://cs.du.ac.in. Admission brochure can also be downloaded along with admission form in which all the information about the admission procedure is provided.
Eligibility criteria
• B.Sc. Computer Science from 12+2+3 educational scheme from any recognized university from India with at least 60% in aggregate.
• The candidates who have appeared for the last degree exam can also appear.
• Interested candidate must be at least of 20 years before the first day of October. Vice chancellor can relax the age limit up to one year in special cases. Only 50% of the students are filled through entrance exam while rest 50% seats are filled on the basis of merit B.Sc. (H) Computer Science, Examination of Delhi University.
The exam comprises of two parts, viz. part with objective type questions and part with Comprehensive questions. The students who successfully pass examination with good marks are called for interview; after completing which admission is given.
