Teerthanker Mahaveer University is a newly established university which offers some really outstanding educational programs. It was established under one special act of Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2008.The university is said to be committed to the ideals of Lord Mahaveer which are right philosophy, right conduct in implementing and planning of the educational programs and policies and right knowledge. Mr. Suresh Jain Sr., who is also chancellor of university, was the main power behind the gigantic task of creating a world class university with all the advanced amenities who worked hard along with Mr. Manish Jain to create right atmosphere in university.

The university is currently working with only 10 colleges and 4 departments; though this is the case, it is catching up the speed as in year 2008, only 1065 students were enrolled whose number increased to 7800 by year 2010. The university has emerged as a significant player in diversifying and strengthening regional economy of Uttar Pradesh by creating capacity for cultural, social and economic development. The university has attracted leading corporate companies towards itself in very short period of time to fulfill their need of well-trained manpower. In this era of stiff competition, university trains its students various important things by exposing them to live projects, problems, situations and circumstances. The university has overall objective of making students competent in all the required sectors.

The credit of the origin of Teerthanker Mahaveer University goes to Teerthanker Mahaveer Institute of management and Technology which was established back in 2001 to provide courses like MCA, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Ed, M.Ed, and BSc in home sciences. All the educational programs which are being offered by Teerthanker Mahaveer University have a strong base of rigorous academic research and interaction with industry and hence these courses are attracting more students towards university.
