M.Com Admission procedure in IGNOU

Introduction to the institute:
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is the head of all open universities and distance education institutions in India. It provides opportunities for higher education and promotes flexible and cost effective ways of imparting education.
Recognition:
Indira Gandhi National Open University, the National Resource Centre for Open and Distance Learning has got international recognition. 
Objective:
The main purpose of the program is to train the students with conceptual and analytical skills for handling business operations.

Curriculum:
It consists of 12 courses which in turn are divided into six core subjects and six specialization courses in International Business Operations. After successful completion of the course the students are qualified for getting the M.Com degree along with the specialisation in the field of International Business Operations.

Requirements:
Graduates in any discipline or equivalence degree from any recognized university are eligible for admission to the M.Com programme.

Medium of instruction:
The medium of learning is limited to English or Hindi.

Duration of the course:
A student can complete it within a minimum period of 2 years or a maximum period of 5 years. Under any circumstances if the candidate is subjected to failure then he/she again has to take readmission by paying the prescribed program fee.

Fee Structure:
The fees for first and second years are Rs. 3700 and 3600 respectively.

Application Date:
The advertisement for the admission to the programme is generally published in all leading newspapers during May/June every year. The last date for submitting the application form is generally on 31st July. 

Application :
Prospectus and handbooks for the students are available from the Registrar from Maidan and New Delhi 110068 and at all the regional centres. The candidates are requested to send a demand draft of Rs 500/ drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at Delhi.
