MKU, better known as Madurai Kamaraj University was established long back. Since years, it has evolved as one of the premier Universities in South India. There are eighteen schools comprising of 73 different departments. Madurai Kamaraj University is rightly named after the sacred city of Madurai. "To seek truth is knowledge" – This is how MKU distinguishes itself from other universities. With all other bachelor’s programs, MKU is also open to BCA.

A very able man, Dr. R. Karpaga Kumaravel is the present chairman of the Madurai Kamaraj University. The University won many honorable awards under his administration.
BCA Quality Standards at MKU
MKU was one of the first institutes in India to open adept BCA faculty in South India. Candidate turn up takes place from all corners of India as a whole.
BCA Eligibility Criteria
Students must pass Higher Secondary exam from any recognized school in India or abroad. They must preferably have Mathematics as a combination in their 10+2 syllabus.
BCA Course Srtucture
BCA course is of 3 years full time duration which is concisely divided into 6 semesters. English is the only medium of delivery. Some of the major BCA papers taught at MKU include – System Software, C programming, Object oriented programming, Discrete mathematics, Client server computing, PC software windows, COBOL, Operating Systems, Java, C++, Oracle, Visual Basic, HTML etc.
Evaluation
It is obligatory to complete at least 3 assignments per subject in all even and odd semesters. These assignments cover: Subjective and Objective Questions, Laboratory Practical evaluations etc.
Qualifying Criteria
Minimum 35% marks in External Assessment (End Term Examination)
Minimum 35% marks in Internal Assessment
Minimum 40% overall aggregate
