Bharathidasan University Courses Admission

In February 1982, Bharathidasan University was established.  This university is name after the great revolutionary Tamil poet. In the year, 2006-07 university has celebrated its silver jubilee. The motto of the university “We will create a new brave world”.  Bharathidasan University is located on Tiruchirappalli - Pudukkottai Highway with an area of over 1000 acres of land. Moreover these is a city campus at Khajamalai housing Department of Economics, Bharathidasan University Technology Park (BUTP), Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (IECD), Department of Computer Science and few more other department of different courses.  Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) is one of the emerging institutes of the country and competing with the top institute around the globe.

104 Arts and Science, Fine Art Colleges and 13 approved institutions are under the affiliation of Bharathidasan University. Among the affiliated colleges, 25% are offering M.Phil or Ph.D programmes and 50% colleges are offering postgraduate degrees. Eighteen of the colleges are autonomous. Most of the colleges are recognized for its good quality of education. Under the university, the number of students is more than 1.50 lakhs.

 Distance education learning programme appeared in the year 1992 to serve the students who wish to continue further studies but due to some of their personal problems have to quit education. The university plans to encourage more and more students every year to enroll themselves in PG courses for boosting their career path. Today, distance education learning program center is in all over the country.  Distance education offers 66 courses, which includes 14 UG, 24 PG 7 Diploma or PG Diploma, MBA and MCA programmes.  More than 16000 students wants to join distance education learning due to limited seats only 7000 to 8000 avails the opportunity.  Distance education also offers courses in Information Technology, Bank Management, Library and information Science, E-commerce etc.
