Banaras Hindu University (BHU) comes in the top list of great university in the country.  Banaras Hindu University has two campuses 4 advanced centers, 3 institutes, 16 faculties, 140 departments and 4 interdisciplinary schools. University is making its presence countable in the areas of science and technology, medicine and agriculture at national and international level.

Today BHU has around twenty thousand students, which include twenty five hundred scholars and six hundred fifty overseas students from 34 countries.  All those students are under one university just pursuing different academic programs in BHU campus as well as in Rajiv Gandhi South Campus.  Students who want to be a part of this eminent university have to clear a rigorous All India Entrance Test, which is conduct by the university once every year.

BHU is making every effort to meet up the pace of development of the country since the awareness and the expectation of the people has risen tremendously.  Rajiv Gandhi South campus of BHU has established in about 75 km in southwest of Varanasi and has a area of 2760 acres of land.  In this campus the first academic session commenced in the year 2006-07 with six programmes which has raised to more than 25 in the current session. BHU is emerging as a center for education, research and training, entrepreneurship development skills for youngsters, women and underprivileged sections of society in the rearward region of Uttar Pradesh, Western Bihar and Northern Madhya Pradesh. University is heading rapidly to attain its vision for education and very soon, they will create benchmark which other university will try to follow.
