Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology is located in hisar, Haryana, India. It appeared as a university on 20 October 1995. However, it was officially launched on 1 November 1995. The university was named after a great saint of 15 century Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj. The prime focus of the institute is to provide better research facilities in higher education in the disciplinary of pharmacy, technology, management studies and environmental studies and to achieve excellence in these disciplines and connected areas.
Hisar is growing rapidly, just 166 km away from Delhi and 230 Km away from Chandigarh. It is very well connected by road and rail. Hisar is one of the vital cities of state Haryana as it serves the needs of commercial and administrative requirement of huge rural population. Hisar is also significant from educational viewpoint as it has two prime Universities of the state, numerous research centers, degree colleges and growing industrial network.
NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) an independent organization of UGC has awarded the university with ‘A’ grade in the year 2001-02. The campus of the university is about 372 acres of land. Campus is a great combination of natural beauty and terrific architecture. On the campus, university constructed 7 teaching departments and 149 residential houses for various group of employees. Within the university, Punjab National Bank a nationalized bank has a branch with ATM facility and a post office in a shopping center. Administrative body is keen to provide the students pollution free and hygienic atmosphere to enhance research and learning subjects. University also runs its own Canteen and cafeteria.
There are seven hostels, three for girls, three for boys and one for working women, with an overall capacity of 1600 people. Hostels have color TV, Carom Board, Badminton Court, Table tennis board and many such items for amusement purpose of the residents.
