Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Financial Aid - Information


JNU Financial Aid
Jawaharlal Nehru University was formed by the act of Indian parliament in 1969. The university was founded by Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi after the death of Jawaharlal Nehru. JNU is located in southern part of New Delhi, India. Jawaharlal Nehru University has a Different picturesque view inside the campus which makes a scenic view. In several location of university have various birds and animals which make the campus an urban sanctuary. They provide free coaching facility to the student. The university campus covers 1000 acres area. JNU provide different financial aid programs like ford foundation scholarship and merit cum means scholarship. This scholarship is given by the state government of India
The JNUmerit cum scholarship is given to those students whose parent monthly income is does not go beyond 2.50 lakh per annum. The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious student belonging to the minority communities and ford foundation scholarship is provided to only few candidates. They provide scholarship of 700 rupees per month but this scholarship is given to only few students of MA programme. The common eligibility for theses scholarship is candidate must complete the graduation from recognized university with fifty per cent marks. The scholarship is awarded to the student on the basis of merit to the provision that half of the seats are reserved for female student. Continuation of scholarship is given if the student is complete the course during the preceding year. JNU also provide following scholarship or fellowship Australian high commission fellowship, Tendulkar scholarship, prof. nurul hasan scholarship, Dr. Sheila zurbrigg fellowship, jawahar bhawan trust scholarship, Nippon foundation, prof. M J K thavaraj MCM scholarship, Korea foundation, com. H L parwana research stipend, D S gardi Sanskrit scholarship, Nirman foundation scholarship etc.
