Lalit Narayan Mithila University Admission
In the year 1972, Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) appeared. At the inception university functions from Mohanpur House and later in the year 1975, it was shifted to the campus, which belongs to Raj Darbhanga. LNMU is located in the town of Darbhanga a primordial region of north India lies between river Ganga and the lower range of Himalayas. With its national and international collaboration, it furnishes quality education in various disciplines such as Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, Medicine and Life Sciences etc. It offers both UG and PG courses. University has more than 400 faculty members who are dedicate towards teaching and research work. It has very incredible green campus, which spreads in an area of 200 acres with all modern infrastructure and additional services for all faculty members and students.
Lalit Narayan Mithila University is a result of esteemed need of the people of this area.  Prominent scholars like Dr. R.C.Mazumdar, Dr. Sunit Kumar Chaterjee, Dr. A. S. Altekar and many more had spoken in favor for the establishment of university at this region. On 27th January 1947 when leading citizen of the area were attending the meeting a committee was comprised of Dr. Amarnatha Jha elected for the post of President and Pandit Harinath Mishra was appointed as a General Secretary.

The government of India has constituted another committee to look the progress of university establishment at Darbhanga. They submitted a report, which stated the establishment of an independent and separate university must be considered based on merit.

After thoughtful study of the report the committee and considering the cultural and economic background of the area Lalit Narayan Mithila University was established with its headquarters at Darbhanga.  Every year the university is producing many eminent scholars and researchers who are contributing in every sector of the country.  University is also planning to diversify the courses they are offering to the current students.
