Osmania University Admission Osmania university was founded in the year 1918 by Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan the Seventh NIzam of Hydrabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is the third oldest university in southern India and the first in the city of Hydrabad. Osmania is having a campus, which is spread in an area of 1600 acres. Osmania University has contributed majorly in social, academic and economic development of the region and the country as a whole. It is among one of the oldest university who has Urdu language as a medium of instruction.
Under the university, over 300000 students are enrolled and getting education from various affiliate colleges and institutions. It has 5000 staffs, which include faculty members, and administrative staffs. Osmania University is famous for its commerce, sciences, art, engineering and technology department. Management institution is having one of the best faculty members. Today, Osmania medical college is under the regulation of NTR Health University, which was formerly under Osmania university system.
Osmania university is funded and supported by the government and is nonprofit making organization. Admission in various courses offered by the university is done purely on merit basis. Every year thousands of students appear on entrance exams to get admission in the eminent university. Students of all over the world come here to learn and enrich their knowledge. Research work is funded by agencies like CRIS (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) and UGC (University Grants Commission). Presently, Sri T. Tirupati Rao is holding the position of vice chancellor of the university. Recently, NAAC has given Osmania University ‘A’ grade status.
