Central University of Karnataka
The CUK (Central University of Karnataka) is established through the Act of Parliament No. 3, 2009 in Gulbarga, Karnataka. It is amongst the 16 original Central Universities recognized by Government of India through UGC XI Period to address concerns of the ‘equity and access’ as well as to increase admission for quality higher education through people in fewer educationally urbanized districts that have Graduate Enrolment Ratio for less than nationwide average of 11%.
The Central University of Karnataka, with the defensive jurisdiction all over the Karnataka has started its activities with 2009 academic year to keep with philosophy of maintaining and achieving the maximum levels of the academic excellence, compassion to equity as well as access in recruitment as well as enrolment emerging as the leading national educational as well as research institution of the country.
The University is well aware of being the 21st century institution starting in India, which is quickly emerging as the universal hub of trained and skilled work force. It is therefore essential that the new universities take a synergetic and active role in evolving the socially mindful beacons of the knowledge through continuously innovating as well as updating information and knowledge.
