Central University of Bihar

CUB (Central University of Bihar) is established by the Govt. of India through Act of Parliament. The CUB (Central University of Bihar) requests to educate as well as build up human resources for development in the country, create linkages with the industries for promotion of the science & technology, as well as give special attention to improvement of socio-economic conditions or well being of people and their academic, cultural, and intellectual development. Because of the non-allocation of territory for campus establishment, the University is presently working from the Camp Office in BIT Campus, in B. V. College, in Patna.

Academic Programs

Following are the two-year Post-Graduate Programs, which are in operation for CUB (Central University of Bihar) during the year 2011:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology

• M.Sc. in Bioinformatics

• M.Sc. in Computer Science

• M.Sc. in Environmental Science

• M.Sc. in Mathematics

• M.Sc. in Statistics

• M.A. in Media Studies and Communication 

• M.A. in the Counseling Psychology

• M.A. in the Development Studies

Master in the Development Studies

Master in the Development Studies is founder course for the Central University of Bihar. 25 students from different academic as well as professional backgrounds were given admission in first batch of the Master in the Development Studies program in the year 2009. The program is having highly qualified faculties. First batch of the students from this Department as well as University have received excellent placements. About 20 students have jobs in the NGO, corporate and social sectors. The rest of the students have chosen of placements freely for the academic purpose. One student of this program is admitted to the MS-International Politics-program in the SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) at University of London as well as IHEID at University of Geneva.
