The University of Lucknow is located in the heart of Lucknow city, Uttar Pradesh, India. Lucknow University was established by the Governor General Law on November 25, 1920. The University of Lucknow was founded by Raja Dakshinaranjan Mukherjee in the year1867 with King George's Medical College and Isabella Thoburn College.The University is one of the prestigious Universities in India as it is connected to University Grants Commission;  Distance Education Council (DEC); Association of Indian Universities (AIU);  and Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). Other certifications of this University include National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC); Bar Council of India (BCI) and National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). Being connected with UGC, the academic courses of the University have an 'Yearly' system, but some of the new courses of the University have semester system, such as BBA, MBA and so on.

The University of Lucknow affiliated to more than 20 colleges in around Lucknow, in that 3 are aided colleges and remaining colleges are self financed. All the affiliated colleges of University of Lucknow offer all range of academic courses from Arts to Science to Engineering and Technology. The University of Lucknow is very famous for its quality and standard of education.
